Helping Hands: A 24-hour Quilting Marathon
This
year on October 4, 2008, Quilters Against Cancer will inaugurate its
annual 24-hour quilting marathon: Helping
Hands at Local 530 Union Hall, 5960
S. Warner in Fremont, Michigan.
All levels of quilting experience, from beginner to expert, are welcome.
This is a unique opportunity to share your interests, skills, and desire
to help women that have been diagnosed with breast which have no health
insurance.
Our
goal is to create 25 quilts during the 24 hour period. Stations will
be set up for every aspect of creating a quilt from cutting the fabric
out to using long-arm quilting
machines to complete the quilt. The
24 hours will take place in 3-hour time blocks. You and your guild may
sign up for one time block or
the entire period if you desire. Your participation will be rewarded
with prizes given during each time
slot. You will also be fueled with endless beverages and treats provided
by the Tall Pine Quilters Guild.
Sign up early to get your preferred
quilting time.
